In our Phlebotomy Technician program, students receive essential knowledge and hands-on training, preparing them to work as a phlebotomist. Accepted standards of the healthcare industry, procedures for specimen collection, different types of skin puncture techniques, and the development of basic phlebotomy skills are some of the valuable skills students will learn in their phlebotomy training classes. While enrolled in phlebotomy classes, students will prepare for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)* exam.

How to Enroll in Fall Classes at BTC

Students who attend the EKG Technician program learn the vital skills necessary to succeed in this valuable career path, as accurately measuring heart rhythms is essential to ensuring ideal heart health in patients. Students will practice valuable hands-on skills including identifying normal and abnormal EKG recordings, using a heart monitor, and distinguishing between basic dysrhythmias. In addition to learning hands-on skills, students will prepare for the Certified EKG Technician (CET)* exam while in their EKG classes.

For those looking for a valuable combination of healthcare training, our Cardio Phlebotomy program trains students in only 24 weeks, preparing you for exciting opportunities at medical facilities like hospitals, doctor’s offices, clinics, labs, emergency rooms, cancer treatment centers, and more. Students practice a variety of skills in their cardio phlebotomy courses, including performing EKGs, drawing blood, controlling infections, fundamental patient care, and more. While enrolled in this fast-track program, students prepare for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)* and Certified EKG Technician (CET)* exams.

Our Medical Office Specialist program prepares students to become an important member of the healthcare team, ensuring that medical offices operate smoothly and efficiently. Students completing medical office training learn a variety of essential medical office tasks, such as recording vital signs, patient intake, charting, collecting laboratory specimens, oral medication, and more. While enrolled in the medical office program, students prepare for numerous healthcare industry certifications including Certified Medical Administrative Assistant*, Certified Billing and Coding Specialist*, and Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist*.
